Firefighters from four stations across Powys attended a rubbish fire in Leighton, near Welshpool, last night.
A statement from Mid and West Wales Fire Service confirmed a "large quantity of rubbish" was brought under control overnight before being handed back to the owner of the property as a "controlled burn".
"On Monday, 25/02/2019 at 06:44pm, crews from Welshpool, Montgomery, Llanfair Caereinion and Llandrindod Wells attended a large refuse fire to a property in Lower Leighton, Welshpool," said a spokesperson.
"A large quantity of rubbish was well alight and brought under control by firefighters using three hose reel jets and two main jets. An agricultural vehicle was also used to spread out the rubbish.
"Having brought the fire under control, the Fire Service monitored the incident overnight before handing the incident over to the owner of the property, as a controlled burn, at 09:09am"
