Firefighters from Newtown and Montgomery were called to a property fire in Newtown town centre today.
A statement from Mid and West Wales Fire Service said the kitchen fire, on the second floor of a three storey building in Wesley Place, was extinguished by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus shortly after 9am.
The statement said: "On Monday, 18/02/2019 at 08:57am, crews from Newtown and Montgomery attended a fire at a property in Wesley Place, Newtown.
"The fire was confined to a kitchen on the second floor of a three storey building and extinguished by firefighters using four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, two thermal imaging cameras, a hydrant, portable lighting and small gear.
"The Fire Service left the incident at 11:21am."
