ORGANISERS of Newtown’s carnival are getting off to an early start for 2019 – with an appeal for a would be carnival king or queen.
The event is set to take place on Saturday, June 8.
Contenders for the crown need to be aged 15 or over with the deadline for entries, which can be sent by email or dropped off at the Monty Club, Newtown, are not due until Monday, March 18.
Organisers say stalls and floats are now available and anyone interested should get in touch via the website at www.newtowncarnival.co.uk
“It’s that time of year again and we hope we have the same if not more support for our annual carnival,” said organiser Jen Reynolds.
“Stalls are limited so get in as quick as possible!
“If you need a hand with getting a lorry for a float for the carnival please do not hesitate to get in touch as these can be in short supply.”
The carnival committee’s annual meeting will also take place on Tuesday, March 5, at 8pm at the Monty Club, Newtown.
