Police investigating the theft of an ATM in Llandovery are appealing for information about a stolen Mitsubishi suspected to have been used during the incident.

A black Mitsubishi L200 was reported stolen from the Llanddeusant area overnight on February 7 into the early hours of January 8, and officers believe it might have been used during the ATM theft and subsequently abandoned in the area.

Dyfed-Powys Police is now appealing for anyone who sees a black 04 plate Mitsubishi L200 on farmland or parked up, to call 101.

The incident is the latest in a spate of ATM thefts which have also affected Llanrhaeadr Ym Mochnant, Llanfair Caereinion and Presteigne among others in recent months.

Temporary Detective Inspector Sian Davies said: “We are following all lines of enquiry to trace the offenders, and we are now looking to locate this stolen vehicle which might give us further information.

“If you see a black 04 plate Mitsubishi L200 which might have been abandoned in a remote location, please contact police.

“I urge farmers, or anyone who owns farming or heavy equipment, to keep them locked and with the keys removed. Consideration should also be given to security marking equipment.”
