A mid Powys heritage and arts centre has launched its first art competition which is open to artists throughout Wales.
Llanwrtyd & District Heritage and Arts Centre, which exhibits work from national and international artists, has launched an Open Art Competition for 2019 with the theme of ‘Peace Amongst Beauty’.
Fifty artworks of paintings and mixed media work will be selected for the final hanging and will be exhibited at the heritage and arts centre throughout June following a preview and judging evening.
Lynne Brookes, of Llanwrtyd & District Heritage and Arts Centre, said: “After three successful years we are looking to raise the profile of the gallery still further and provide the opportunity for new artists to experience our facilities.
“We see this competition as a way to achieve this and encourage new artists and visitors to the centre and to Llanwrtyd and it is envisaged that this will become an annual event.”
Details for entry can be found here or by contacting the centre on 01591 610067.
