A number of schools and colleges are closed in Powys today (Wednesday, January 23).

Newtown College is closed due to a boiler failure.

Posting on Twitter, the NPTC Group said: "Please note, due to boiler failure, we have closed Newtown College today. All other colleges and campuses remain open as normal.

"Please refer to social media for updates."

Caerenion High School said: "Due to health & safety issues the school will be closed Wednesday, January 23."

The school also said that it does not have access to the Powys School Closures website.

Llanfair Caereinion C.P. School and Ysgol Pennant have closed for the day due to snow disruption.

Welsh-language playgroup Cylch Meithrin Dyffryn Banw, in Llanerfyl, is closed and Llansilin's Cylch Ti a Fi and Clwb Cwtsh have been cancelled due to concerns over the weather.

Meanwhile, a bus running to Llanfyllin High School is not running.

The school Tweeted: “Due to the current road conditions, we have just been informed by the bus operator that the LF63 (Llanwddyn) bus will not be running today.”
