A LARGE-scale cannabis factory with a potential street value of around one million pounds in Newtown has been uncovered by Dyfed-Powys Police officers.

A police spokesperson said: "Police carried out a warrant at an address in Stone Street during the early hours of Saturday morning, where a significant number of plants were found.

"Two men –aged 21 and 38 – were arrested at the scene and were later charged with producing a controlled drug."

"Officers estimated there were around 1,600 plants at the address, with a potential street value of one million pounds."

"The men have been taken to Welshpool Magistrates’ Court."
