A musical theatre actor from Dolanog who played the lead role in a major UK tour has taken to the stage for the final time.
Steffan Harri, 27, was the youngest person ever to play the part of the ogre Shrek when he landed the role in 2017. The critically and publicly acclaimed production of ‘Shrek the Musical’ has been seen by nearly 2.5 million people during its tour of the UK and Ireland.
The former Ysgol Gynradd Llanfair Caereinion and Caereinion High School pupil donned the green fat suit one last time at the Leeds Grand Theatre on Sunday, January 6, following a 14-month tour around the country.
“There aren’t enough words to sum up the gratitude I feel for having been entrusted with this role," Steffan said.
“It’s been an absolute privilege leading this company around the UK and Ireland over the last 14 months. 24 theatres, five countries and over 1,500 hours in the green prosthetics!
He added: “It’s been a fantastic challenge for which I’m extremely grateful.
“Looking forward to new adventures but will always look back with fond memories. Thank you to all for the incredible support. Diolch yn fawr.”
