Two junior cyclists from Builth Wells have been crowned national champions at the Welsh Cycling Cyclo-cross Championships 2018 in Abergavenny.
Aelwen Davies and Cian Evans, from The Bulls Cycling Club, took top spot as Wales’ under 12 champions.
Teammates Efan Lewis and Ffion Davies ended 2018 as series winners for the under sixes; and Zak Lewis took third place for the under eights.
Tania Ryland, spokesperson, said: “What a day for our little Bulls, with five gold medals won including two Welsh Champions crowned. The event village and venue were fantastic and the course was great and challenging.
“Lots of twists and turns, ups and downs, mud and off cambers led to an exciting day’s racing.
She added: “The Bulls is a small club but the riders are doing great things and the grassroots coaching is providing a sound base for successful cyclists.”
In August, the cyclists had the honour of joining Tour de France winner Geraint Thomas’s homecoming party in Cardiff.
