Fire Tones superfans Mackenzie, aged 10, and Jamie-Leigh, aged 14, had a special visit from members of the Newtown Fire Service after they made 43 individual snowflakes: one for each member of The Fire Tones.

The girls' mum, Mandy, said: "It was just a spur of the moment thing. They started getting paper out and I asked what they were doing. 'We're making snowflakes for The Fire Tones!' they said.

"The snowflakes kept coming. I asked them 'how many are you making?' and they said 'everybody's got to have one!"

Six Newtown firefighters visited the girls at their home to receive the snowflakes, arriving in a fire truck. "They thought the snowflakes were amazing," Mandy said. The snowflakes have been taken back to the Newtown station to be part of their Christmas decorations.

The sisters have been playing The Fire Tones on repeat on Youtube and it's been driving their mum Mandy mad. "I think they are Newtown's biggest fans," she said. "They say that the more times they watch it the more chance they'll get to number one."

Mum Mandy may occasionally have to ask her daughters to put the song on mute she's heard it so many times, but she's very glad her girls are supporting such a good cause. "Firefighters risk their lives and the best thank you the public can give them is to get them to number one. They deserve to be up there."
