Vandals have damaged a Christmas lights feature in Newtown town centre.
A number of lights on the tree-shaped feature in the Robert Owen Memorial Garden, between Shortbridge Street and Gas Street, are no longer working.
Newtown & Llanllwchaiarn Town Council said the incident happened over the weekend after someone tried to climb the feature.
The Town Council says it is working to get the illumination fixed and a small fence will be placed around it for protection.
On a Facebook post, the Town Council said: "Unfortunately we also have some bad news. Over the weekend someone has attempted to climb the new feature in Robert Owen Gardens and took out a number of lights.
"We are working to get it repaired as soon as possible and a small fence will be put in place to try and protect it."
