A Welshpool man was given an eight month suspended prison sentence at Mold Crown Court on Thursday, November 22.
Keith Martin Charles Simpson, 43, of Salop Road in Welshpool, pleaded guilty to four charges relating to indecent images of children and another on possessing an extreme pornographic image portraying intercourse with a dog at Welshpool Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, October 30, before appearing in Mold for sentencing.
Simpson's eight month sentence is suspended for two years.
He was charged with having a total of 2953 indecent images and videos of children, as well as 21 prohibited images of a child, and one of a person performing an act of intercourse with a dog.
Simpson's sentence was based on his first charge of having 395 indecent images of children in Category A: involving penetrative sexual activity.
There was no separate penalty against the other four charges.
