A Mid Wales man has today changed his plea and admitted an assault charge.
Defendant Kyle Rudd, 24, of Orchard Way, Maesyrhandir, Newtown, had previously denied assault and coercive behaviour.
He appeared at Mold Crown Court via a live television link from Altcourse Prison in Liverpool and admitted that on July 10 he assaulting a young woman, occasioning her actual bodily harm.
The prosecution said that the plea was acceptable, offered no evidence against him on the other charge and he was formally found not guilty.
Judge Niclas Parry ordered a pre-sentence report from the probation service in view of the fact that it was a domestic assault and remanded Rudd in custody to be sentenced on December 21.
