MONTGOMERY Town got their MMP-NL Mid Wales League Two title bid back on track with a comfortable 3-0 win at home to Aberystwyth University.

Goals from Robbie Hartshorn, Luke Tanner and Alec Jones earned the Canaries maximum points to close the gap at the top of the table.

Meanwhile Four Crosses hit back to complete a 3-2 win at home to Dyffryn Banw.

Tom Foulkes gave Banw the lead from the penalty spot before the home side replied through Kyle Wilson with a penalty from Jake Edwards giving Crosses the lead.

Gerallt Evans looked to saved Banw a point only for Steve Pugh to win the day for Crosses late on.

Meanwhile honours ended even at Victoria Avenue as MMP-NL Mid Wales League One title chasers Llanidloes Town and Llanfair United share the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Peter Rees broke the deadlock for Llanidloes following a goalmouth scramble early in the second-half only for United to hit back with Josh Astley on target.

Astley came closest to snatching glory with the United youngster denied by the cross bar as Llanidloes held out for a point to close the gap on league leaders Caersws.
