AN APPEAL for witnesses has been launched after dogs were deliberately set on a group of badgers near Llannefydd.
North Wales Police is appealing for information after a badger baiting in a field near the village on Tuesday, November 13.
The police attended the scene after receiving a report of the incident to find a badger sett had been backfilled and the remains of the badgers nearby.
It is believed dogs were deliberately set upon the badgers.
A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: “We attended a report of badger baiting near the village of Llannefydd.
“It looks like the badgers had been dug out, sett backfilled and dogs set upon them."
The spokesperson added the police “won’t go into further detail about the death of one particular badger in the group”.
