Do you have what it takes to become the next Miss Wales, well here's your chance to show it.

North Wales have only had two winners in the past 14 years but event organiser Paula Abbandonato is once again bringing auditions to the area and said she is hoping to find the 2019 winner in the north.

Ms Abbandonato said: "We want to find entrants further out then the obvious spots in the south like Cardiff.

"North Wales are never as well represented as the south, it might be a population issue or whether the girls from North Wales don't think they have what it takes, I don't know."

Auditions are to be held in Wrexham - on Friday, November 16 - and Bets-y-Coed - between Saturday, November 17, and Monday, November 19 - and Ms Abbandonato was hoping girls in the area would take up the opportunity.

She said they were looking for three things when it came to picking those to compete for the Miss Wales crown.

The three traits included looking the part, high emotional intelligence and a bit of fire.

Ms Abbandonato added: "It is just about the girls aiming high and taking the opportunity. The opportunity is right on their doorstep and I know people can get a little nervous about these kind of things, but you don't know if you don't try."

Auditions will include a presentation by the entrant, and a five minute interview followed by an informal chat and photoshoot.

These auditions will help pick finalists for next year's final which will be held in April.

But Ms Abbandonato said there were a number of events to take place between now and the final including charity fundraisers and a Miss Wales Christmas party.
