MYSTERY surrounds a police search of an Anglesey churchyard.
A Twitter message was issued by North Wales Police yesterday about a search the force had carried out yesterday in the churchyard of the ancient St Mwrog’s church, Llanfwrog, north east of Holyhead.
The message, which sought to reassure the public, said: “Police can confirm that some items were recovered in the grounds but stress that there is no cause for concern and no risk to the public. Whilst a police investigation continues however, no further details can be provided at this time.
“If any member of the public has seen any suspicious activity in the area of the Church recently, please contact North Wales Police on 101, quoting incident number W156507, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
