ABOUT 30 volunteers gathered to celebrate one year of cleaning up Rhyl's beaches .
Rhyl's Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) and PlasticFreeRhyl members met at the Pro Kitesurf Cafe, on the East Parade, to celebrate their first year of beach cleans and campaigning with some cake and pizza.
The Rhyl SAS branch founder cllr Keith Jones said: "With over 400 members in our facebook group, along with almost 100 supporters keeping in touch by email, the issues of litter on our beach and the urgent need to use less single-use plastics, are certainly proving to be issues which are drawing together our awesome community here in Rhyl."
Joining the group on Friday, October 26 were Bill and Moira Lockitt from G2G Communities, who updated volunteers on how collected plastic litter is recycled as part of their 3D printing process, as well as Rhyl Mayor Win Mullen-Jame, her husband cllr Alan James and daughter Mayoress Catherine McNamara. A raffle amongst attendees also raised £30 for SAS.
