A WELSHPOOL mum of three skydived from 10,000 feet last week to raise money for a charity which helps children with disabilities.

Rhiannon Jones jumped from the skies in Tilstock in North Shropshire to raise money for the Make Some Noise charity.

She was initially meant to do the dive at the end of August, but it was abandoned, at 10,000 feet, due to poor weather conditions.

When Rhiannon found out that she’d been selected for the dive, which was organised by Global Radio, she said she was “terrified” as she was “terrified of heights”. However, she found herself enjoying the skydive more than she expected when it eventually took place.

She said: “It honestly was just incredible. I can’t even explain the feeling. The free fall was incredible, you reach up to 130mph but did not feel like it.

“It just felt so amazing. I didn’t feel that nervous either, which I thought I would.

“It felt so calm and tranquil once the parachute was up, it really quiet and peaceful – I could have had a conversation.

“I honestly would tell everyone if they ever get the chance to do it you will never experience anything like it and I would 100% do it again!”

Rhiannon skydived alongside radio presenters Lois Cernyw and Rachel Howarth from Heart North Wales.
