TWELVE Pembrokeshire Schools are in with a chance of winning £1,000 each, as part of South Hook LNG’s 11th annual calendar competition.
This year’s historical theme encourages children to step back in time, working as a team to create a collage that depicts a scene or event from a period in history – from the battles of medieval times to the inventions that have shaped our world, the scope is vast.
Mariam Dalziel, PR manager at South Hook LNG said: “History is a key subject in the National Curriculum and we hope that this challenge may inspire school class and team involvement, maximising the educational value of the competition.”
“We have teamed up with NAWR, the Arts and Education Network for Mid and West Wales, once again who will be giving teachers the opportunity to learn new techniques that they can take back to the classroom and apply to the competition.”
NAWR’s teacher workshops will take place in Milford Haven this Friday and Saturday (October 5 and 6), run by experienced collage artist Maya Mitten.
Not only does Maya regularly run specialist workshops at the Saatchi Gallery, she also has her own range of creative collage calendars, so is the ideal artist to inspire teachers.

Posters for the competition have been sent to Pembrokeshire schools and include details of the rules and entry requirements.
