WHEN pursued after stealing a rucksack and laptop from the White Rose Centre at Rhyl, a thief flung them over a 6ft wall.
However, they landed at the feet of a police community support officer.
Magistrates at a special weekend court at Llandudno were told this when Martin Reynolds, 48, of Church Street, Flint denied burglary.
He claimed that it was a case of mistaken identity and another man had thrown the items.
“I was in the wrong place at the wrong time,” he claimed. The case will be heard by magistrates at a later date and he was refused bail.
Reynolds will appear in court via a video link from prison on Thursday.
