DAMP weather couldn’t prevent Llanbrynmair Show goers from having a thrilling Bank Holiday Monday as the show celebrated its 60th anniversary.

The cloudy conditions did not dampen the spirits in the gardening section with many turning out their flowers, fruit and vegetables, likewise in the cookery section there was an array of cakes, puddings jams and chutneys. The needlework and the arts and crafts section were kept busy, while out on the field the pony, sheep and dog sections were in full swing. The shearing went from strength to strength with the new tankard for open shearing under-26 being contested and won by Huw Jones.

The show was opened officially by president Mr Phillip Moyle, who has been on the show committee in various roles over the past 38 years.

“The chairman would like to thank everyone who has helped, supported and sponsored the show to make it such a brilliant day,” said a spokesperson.
