Llandrindod High School is "pleased" with its GCSE results, as 74 per cent of the pupils who collected their results from the Llandrindod Wells school on Thursday, August 28, achieved five grades A* - C.

A statement from the school said: "74 per cent of pupils at Llandrindod High School achieved five A*-C grades which we are pleased with in a time of change across Wales for GCSEs.

"We are delighted with the successes of so many students; there were excellent results for many individual pupils. Oliver Rowlands gained 10 A* grades and one A grade, Emily Berry nine A* grades and three A grades, Anja Knox nine A*s and two As, Lachie Bowen two A*s, seven As and two Bs, Felicity Bulbulia five A*s, four As and two Bs, Merlyn Hawthorne three A*s, six As and two Bs, Beulah Willemsen three A*s, six As and one B.

"We would like to thank all pupils and staff for their efforts and hard work this year and parents for their continued support of the school. We look forward to welcoming many students back to the Llandrindod Campus as part of Ysgol Calon Cymru on September 6 and offer our best wishes to all our Year 11 students for the next step in their careers."
