FARMERS across North Wales have been warned to be vigilant after several hay thefts across the region.
The Leader reported recently on the theft of 300 bales of hay from a farm in the Llanarmon Yn Ial area, near Ruthin.
In a social media video this morning Rob Taylor, rural crime team manager for North Wales Police, called for vigilance after recent reports of thefts.
He explained: "We're seeing a number of hay bale thefts - please be vigilant if you come across anyone acting suspiciously.
"It could be because the commodity has gone up in price because of the weather. We are keeping a very close eye on it at this stage."
He confirmed one theft had been reported in Ruthin and another on the Llyn Peninsula, adding his team continues to receive reports of livestock attacks.
Anyone who has information can call police on 101.
