A woman has died following a three-vehicle collision near Machynlleth on Monday.
The incident involved a Land Rover Defender and trailer, a silver Vauxhall Corsa and black Ford Focus, happened at 11.01am on the B4405 at Tal y Llyn.
Sgt Trystan Bevan of the Roads Policing Unit said: “Sadly the female passenger in the Corsa was pronounced dead at the scene and the male driver was taken hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.
"We now know that a number of heavy goods vehicles were in the area at the time and we are appealing to any of their drivers to contact us.
“Equally, any witnesses who may have seen the collision, and who are yet to come forward are asked to get in touch with us as soon as possible in order to assist us with the investigation.”
