Staff and pupils at Welshpool High School were celebrating this morning as students collected results after finishing their A-Levels today.

Assistant Headteacher Daryl Phillips said students had received "tremendous" results, with 70% of pupils achieving at least one A* or A grade or equivalent, and an almost 100% pass rate at A Level.

Seven pupils achieved three or more A* or A grades.

"We are delighted that again we have had a very good year in 2018 with 70% of pupils achieving at least one A* or A grade or equivalent, and an almost 100% pass rate at A Level," he said.

"Sam Dyer achieved a very impressive 5 A levels at A*/A grade and will go on to study Medicine. Izzy Harris will also study Medicine having achieved 3 A*/ A grades plus an A grade at AS level. Other very good performances included Megan Davies (2 Distinction *, an A and a B), Rebekah Jones (an A*, and 2 A grades) who goes on to study Radiotherapy and Sara Lloyd (2 Distinction *, an A and a B grade). Jack Foulkes achieved an A* and 2 A grades while Dominic Richards gained 2 Distinction*, an A grade and a C.
