A MAN has died following a road traffic collision near Trawsfynydd earlier this month.

The man, who was aged in his 70’s, sadly died in hospital on Sunday, August 12.

The collision happened on Sunday, August 5, on the A4212 junction with the A470 at Trawsfynydd.

The collision involved two vehicles, a black Jeep Cherokee and a silver Peugeot van.

Both occupants of the Cherokee were airlifted to hospital with serious injuries, however the driver has since died in hospital. The passenger has since been released.

Sergeant Raymond Williams of the Roads Policing Unit said: “Sadly this is now being investigated as a fatal collision and we are renewing our appeal for witnesses.

“Our thoughts remain with the family of the man involved and they are now being supported by a specially trained Family Liaison Officer.

“We know that the road was busy at the time therefore we are urging anybody who may have witnessed the collision, or anybody who may have seen either vehicle being driven prior to the collision and who have not yet come forward to contact us.

“Equally, anybody who may have been in the area at the time and who may have dash cam footage are urged to please contact the Roads Policing Unit.”
