Two popular retail properties in the same street in Llanidloes have sparked a great deal of interest, according to one of the oldest estate agent’s firms in the UK.

The Great Oak Bookshop and Natural Foods, both in Great Oak Street, are on the market with Halls Commercial Property.

The town was voted one of the top 10 towns in the country by The Sunday Times in 2016 and one of the top three places to live by the Royal Mail in 2014.

James Evans, of Halls, said: “It is easy to see why Llanidloes is so popular as a place to live and we have seen a great deal of interest in both these properties in a relatively short space of time since they went on the market.

“The Great Oak Bookshop is now under offer and we are hopeful that will be completed soon, while Natural Foods is still available at the moment but we are not anticipating that to be the case for too much longer.

“Natural Foods is a great value freehold property and business – a popular and profitable health food shop.

“The business has been independently owned and built up since 1981. The present owners have built up a strong client base, a strong turnover and a gross profit margin of 25 per cent for the financial year ending 2017.

“There is a ground floor, which is the retail space, first floor comprising of kitchen storeroom and bathroom and the second floor has an office and meeting room – the upper floors were once used as living accommodation.

“The two properties are close together and the book shop is also a popular and profitable enterprise.

There is a first-floor flat and the building was once a weaving workshop,” he added.
