AN APPEAL has been launched to find a pair of masked burglars who led police on a car chase across Cheshire.

North Wales Police has confirmed that at some time between 10.30pm and 11.45pm on July 26, a pair of hooded and masked males forced their way into the rear of the convenience store on The Square, North Street, Caerwys.

Once inside the store on North Street, the offenders proceeded to steal two tills and other items of an estimated total value of £2,500 to £3,000.

Sgt Neil Hughes, of North Wales Police Flintshire South safer neighbourhood team, said the males, who have not yet been identified, were then involved in a pursuit across Cheshire.

The car they were driving, a black VW Golf, was confirmed to have had plates cloned from a vehicle outside outside of North Wales.

Sgt Hughes said it is suspected the males are also from outside the area.
