EXCITING attractions including helicopter rides, acrobatic shows and delicious food stalls are set to arrive in Churchstoke this weekend , as part of a Fun Day organised by The Midcounties Co-operative in aid of local charities.

The Churchstoke Fun Day known locally as Tuffin's Day us now in its 23rd year, offers activities for all ages, ranging from a vintage car show, arts and crafts to fairground rides and magic shows.

Mark Kennedy a Leadership Team Ambassador at The Midcounties Co-operative, said: “We’re all busy preparing for this year’s Churchstoke Fun Day.

"Each year we try to add in more, fun and unusual activities to entertain local people. We’re particularly looking forward to this year’s helicopter ride.

“The Fun Day is a great way of getting everyone together, including colleagues and the charities and community groups we support.

"This year is expected to be bigger and better than ever and we’re inviting residents from across the region come and enjoy the many activities on offer.”

This year, residents will also be able to witness galloping acrobatics where gymnasts complete Olympic worthy feats while horse riding, as well as the opportunity to take part in an underwater virtual reality experience.

Children will have the chance to meet their favourite cartoon characters with an appearance from Chase & Marshall from Paw Patrol and Cat Boy from PJ Masks.

The event will help raise funds for local charities and community groups including Hope House Hospice, a children’s hospice in Oswestry.

Last year the day raised £20,000 for worthy causes and attracted more than 6,000 people.

The activity forms part of The Midcounties Co-operative’s Regional Communities strategy, which sees members and colleagues come together to provide impactful and sustainable support for local community groups through volunteering and fundraising initiatives.
