A Foodbank manager has spread the word about its work.
Liz Jermy, manager of Oswestry and Border Food Bank, gave a talk to members of the Borderland Rotary Club.
A Borderland Rotary Club spokesman said: "The food bank in Oswestry can now call on over 40 local volunteers but must have this seemingly high number to cope with the ever-growing need for their services.
"The Trussell Trust, the national charity that oversees the foodbanks gave out 1.3 million parcels nationwide in the last year.
"On a local level, they have been helped by all the major supermarkets and had a new kitchen donated and fitted free. Borderland Rotary Club have been supporting the Food Bank for some years and we would encourage others to do the same."
