AN ANNUAL town centre carnival proved a summer hit once again with residents, families and visitors to Wrexham.
Offa Carnival took place on Saturday in the town centre's Bellevue Park, with large crowds gathering throughout the day to enjoy a wide variety of attractions.
Events included a dog show, donkey rides, face painting, a falcory display, Punch and Judy, a bee display, a land train, and many other fun activities.
The carnival is supported and funded by Offa Community Council and Hermitage ward Councillor Graham Rogers said the organisers were delighted with how it went.
He said: "It went really well, we had hundreds and hundreds of people there, in excess of 500 I'd say.
"The weather could have been kinder but at least it was cool, and people were able to enjoy their ice-creams, burgers and hot dogs.
"There were a lot of stalls and a lot of the attractions went down well, from the hula hooping to the donkey rides.
"All the organisers, community council and volunteers deserve a pat on the back.
"Special thanks goes to Karen Benfield, Offa Community Council clerk, the carnival committee and all the volunteers."
Cllr Rogers added that all those who enjoyed this year's event can already start looking forward to next year.
He said: "It's an annual event, we are planning to do it all again next year.
"Karen, our clerk, will start planning again from September, and its likely to be the same venue and same time of year again."
