A sheep has been found with its ears cut off and body slashed in a horrific case of animal cruelty.
“It’s just heart-breaking to see how someone can be so cruel,” said farmer Arwyn Huxley, who farms in the Llanfair Caereinion area.
The attack happened near Llanfair Caereinion some time between 9am and 9pm on Monday, July 9.
Pictures posted on Facebook by owner, Arwyn Huxley, has upset many people in the community.
More than 2,000 people have already looked at and been shocked by the pictures posted by Arwyn of the mutilated sheep on Facebook.
Arwyn said he was “gob-smacked” when he first saw the sheep in the field.
He added: “I’m the only son of a farmer You never really think things like that would happen to yourself, do you really.
“It’s the first time anything like this has happened.
“It’s just heart-breaking to see how someone can be so cruel.”
The young farmer said he’s been encouraged by the community’s support on social media: “I suppose they’ve done well to share it over 2,000 times.
“I didn’t expect for it to go over the top as much as it has, really.”
Dyfed-Powys Police have confirmed they received a report of a sheep having its ears removed and body slashed with a sharp object.
