It WAS a day of celebration for Malpas Cricket Club after 150 years of cricket at their Wrexham Road ground on Sunday, with a well-attended Open Day.

President Nick Toosey welcomed everyone and thanked many at the club from committee to the every-day volunteers before then welcome 'my dear old thing' Henry 'Blowers' Blofeld back to the club, to commentate on the cricket match.

He then was followed by Nigel Shone who thanked Nick for his tremendous effort as president. He also thanked the catering team. He thanked the vice Presidents and other sponsors for their support and mentioned the 1968 100th centenary. Three people who played in 1968 were present – John "Capper" Davies, Cyril Chesworth and Stuart Bradley.
