A TRIAL date has been set for August for alleged pre-meditated murder of a Welshpool man and attempted murder of his friend while on holiday in Cyprus.
A 35-year-old man will stand trial on August 3, for the suspected murder of Robert Birch, known as Charlie who was killed in a hit-and-run incident while on holiday in Cyprus.
The man will also be tried for the attempted murder of Will Pritchard, 32 who was also injured in the incident.
Charlie died after being hit by a car in the early hours of June 24 while on holiday in Paphos.
A 23-year-old woman who had also been arrested has been released without charge.
Cypriot Police has confirmed Mr Birch was the victim of the suspected hit-and-run.
They said a car fell into the sea at the harbour of Agios Georgios in Pegeia and a man and a woman were seen leaving the car.
