A PARAGLIDER in his 20s was airlifted to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital on Sunday after injuring his back during a crash.
West Midlands Ambulance Service sent a helicopter with a Doctor and Critical Care Paramedic to the scene of the crash at Corndon Hill near Churchstoke.
Fire Crews from both sides of the Wales/England border assisted the rescue operation as the victim had crashed on tricky terrain and the area is well known for paragliding.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We received a call at 1.23pm on Sunday that a paraglider had fallen.
"We sent and ambulance with paramedic and an Air Ambulance Helicopter with a critical care team which is a Doctor and critical care paramedic.
"Our team immobilised a man in his 20s who had injured his back.
"He was given pain killers and airlifted to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital."
