The Montgomeryshire Agricultural Association held a very successful 4X4 Event on June 1 to launch its 2018 schedule of competitions.
The event started with most enjoyable refreshments at the Llanidloes Rugby Club field before travelling 50 miles through Llanidloes, Llangurig, Bwlch y Groes, across the A44 over the mountains stopping for a lunch break at Pwllpeiran. Continuing through Pontrhydygroes, Ffair Rhos and across the mountains to the Claerwen Reservoir. A warm welcome of refreshments and a talk was given by Huw and Jean Jones, at Nanybeddau. The day concluded with an excellent roast at the Elan Valley Hotel.
The association would like to thank Wynnstay for sponsoring the 2018 schedule of competitions, Edward Turner for organising such an interesting and enjoyable route, Llanidloes Rugby Club, Huw and Jean Jones and the Elan Valley Hotel for the refreshments provided, all landowners who gave permission for the association to travel over their land and to Robert Benyon for the photographs taken on the day.
