A COUTURE designer from Meifod said it was a “real pinch me moment” to dress a Royal at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding.

Claire Mischevani, a Shrewsbury-based designer, dressed Zara Tindall, the Queen’s granddaughter, at the Royal Wedding.

County Times:

Zara wore a bespoke teal coat with embossed navy detailing and navy silk dress. The fabric was hand made especially for her.

“I was very proud to be chosen by her, out of all of the other designers she could have chosen, for such a monumental occasion,” said Claire.

“I’ve worked with Zara several times before, but to dress her for the Royal Wedding was a real honour. She looked fabulous.”

Ms Mischevani’s designs have appeared on several ‘Best Dressed’ lists, and have featured in Vogue, Tatler and Grazia.

“We dressed several other guests for the wedding and it was great fun spotting them arriving on the TV.

“It was a day I shall never forget and a real pinch me moment to have dressed a Royal for a Royal wedding.”

Claire will have the honour of working with other members of the Royal Family for several events later this year.

Ms Mischevani had dressed Royals such as Princess Beatrice and Lady Gabriella Windsor for Royal Ascot in 2017.

Inspired by her Grandmother who made clothes for 60s pop trio the Beverley Sisters, Ms Mischevani changed her law career for fashion design. Four years after starting her business, she won Designer of the Year in London. Since 2001, the Shrewsbury-based boutique has grown from strength to strength.

“We have just opened new premises in Belgravia, London, as our London clientele has grown massively over the last two years and we desperately needed a base there, in addition to our very busy Shrewsbury boutique and head office, which is where most of the garments are made.

“I have a great team and we are currently expanding our team of seamstresses, to cope with the growth in demand. As we also have a ready to wear collection, that is proving really popular.

“We have lots of exciting plans on the horizon and I am so grateful to my amazing family and friends for making it all possible.”
