CONTROVERSIAL car parking and permit charges at Llandrindod Wells, Presteigne, Knighton and Llanidloes are under review by Powys County Council.
Councillor Liam Fitzpatrick, Cabinet Member for Highways, will review the plans to introduce pay and display charges at car parks in Brecon (Orchard Street), Llanfair Caereinion, Presteigne, Sennybridge and Talgarth.
Plans to introduce residents parking permit schemes in Knighton (Market Street), Llandrindod Wells (Tremont and Ridgebourne) and Llanidloes (Church Place) will also be reviewed.
“Since becoming Cabinet Member for Highways, I have been contacted by a number of residents who are concerned about the impact these proposals will have on their local community,” said Cllr Fitzpatrick.
“I have decided to carry out a review of these proposals before they come into force.
“I will be looking at the concerns that I have received since becoming Cabinet member, along with the views the council received during the consultation on the proposals, and will be taking them into account when the review starts.”
