ALBERBURY IIs proved too good for St Georges IIs in a five wicket win in divison one of the Henshalls Shropshire Reserve League.

Emrys Hughes (65), Matthew Chesters (24) and Ross Wilmot (35) laid the base for the Saints before Simon Chesters (66no) guided his side to 213-4 to defend.

Naz Akhtar (2-37) enjoyed early success in reply but Sahim Zaza (58) and Richard Tennant (77) changed the fate of the game before Simon Chesters (2-21) struck.

However Jamie Brooks (48no) was not to be denied and was joined by Jonathan Green (7no) in guiding Alberbury to 214-5 and glory in the 38th over.

Newtown IIs proved a class apart in a nine wicket win at home to Ludlow IIs in division two.

Brandon Baynham (3-45) led the wicket haul as Newtown limited Ludlow to 191-5 with opener Dave Northwood (77) and Scott Kelmsleuy (24) top scoring.

Town lost opener Chris Bound (39) but an unbroken second wicket partnership saw Ian Hancocks (94no) join Sam Morris (52no) in steering the hosts to 192-1 and victory inthe 34th over.

Elsewhere Montgomery IIs were frustrated in a draw at Iscoyd and Fenns Banks IIs.

Monty set a commanding 250-6 to defend with a career best 108no from Charlie Clinton and support from Tom Corfield (30) and Keith Griffiths (29) defying James Gresty (3-47).

Clinton (2-32) also celebrated the wicket of top scorer Paul Gresty (34) in reply with David Jones (2-13) also chipping in.

Griffiths (1-12) bowled James Gresty for 33 to leave Iscoyd happy to see out the overs, digging in at 137-6 for a draw.

Welshpool IIIs cruised to a 147 run victory at home to derby rivals Bishops Castle IIs in division three.

Nick Davies (77) and Roger Knight (28) top scored to guide Pool to 186-8 to defend despite teh best efforts of Simon Palmer (3-13) and Mark Griffiths (2-32).

Rupert Redway (4-6) dominated in reply with Tom Bowen (2-8) and Matt Sherwood (2-13) ensuring Castle were skittled for a meagre 39 with only opener Satch Norton (10) managing double figures.
