North Wales Division
Two & Three East
ADAM Price starred as Llanidloes stormed to a comprehensive 30-0 victory at home to Harlech in division two of the North Wales League.
The hosts were made to work for the breakthrough which eventually came when scrum-half Price’s strong run saw him break through Harlech’s defence.
Price added the conversion before kicking a penalty as Llanidloes established the lead and doubled their advantage by the break with No8 Gareth Anwyl finishing off a clever back row move.
Price once again converted before adding a penalty as Llanidloes opened a healthy 20 point lead at the break.
Harlech refused to wilt in the second-half but Llanidloes sealed their victory with a third try as prop Neil Jerman crossed and Price converted before the latter added a penalty to complete the scoring and his 20 point haul.
Machynlleth climbed to the top of division three east with a comfortable 24-3 win at home to Flint.
Kameron Simmons-Sandy crossed for the only try of the first-half, converted by Iwan Jones, as the hosts established a slender 7-3 lead at the interval.
Machynlleth struggled in the second-half with an error strewn game failing to inspire until the hosts settled the outcome with a two late tries from Ifor Jones and Iwan Jones.
There was still time for Machynlleth to add a flattering fourth try with Simmons-Sandy racing the length of the pitch to cross for a try with his conversion completing the tally.
Meanwhile Newtown’s match at league whipping boys Rhos was cancelled.
