STAR of the BBC2 show ‘Cradle to Grave’, Laurie Kynaston, came back to his old school Llanfyllin High School on Friday.

He went back to take acting workshops with several drama students.

He visited his drama teacher, Mandy Saunders, and his old drama studio where he studied drama and theatre studies up to A Level.

Mr Kynaston started the day by attending an extended assembly where young up-and-coming actors from year 10 performed pieces from their latest production ‘Remember Me – Cofiwch Fi .’

He then commented on how exciting it was to see the development of talented younger drama students.

During the day, Laurie took several acting workshops to students taking drama GCSE and A Level drama courses, filling them with enthusiasm and tips on how to act for camera/TV.

Head of drama at Llanfyllin High School, Mandy Saunders, remembers Laurie as a pupil.

She said: “Laurie was always a hard-working and disciplined student who paid meticulous attention to detail in his own development as an actor.

“Every day he would be in the drama studio either preparing an audition piece, trawling through drama scripts, rehearsing for a performance or making a prop!

“He had a passionate love for creating, devising and exploring drama and theatre.

“It is wonderful to see how his hard work has paid off and we are all so proud of his success- he deserves it!”
