SHEEP farmers will have an opportunity to discuss the benefits of EID at an event in Berriew next week.
Sion Ifans, of Menter a Busnes and project development officer of the Technology, Agriculture and Greater Efficiencies (TAG) project, will be discussing EID on Monday, August 13, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, at Trefnant Hall, Berriew, near Welshpool.
Also speaking at the event will be sheep farmer, Marc Jones, who has been involved with the TAG project since its inception in 2009.
Farmers attending the on-farm event will have the opportunity to discuss EID related topics including the potential benefits of EID recording within a flock.
Also under discussion will be the important process of record keeping and guidance and advice will be given to help avoid cross-compliance penalties.
Sion will also give an insight into the TAG project – Flock Performance Targets and will provide information on the types of EID readers available on the market.
There will be a practical demonstration during the event to illustrate the topics discussed.
The event will commence at 6.30pm and conclude at 8.30pm. Refreshments will be provided.
