ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)(a) THE A49 TRUNK ROAD (LEOMINSTER TO MARLBROOK, HEREFORDSHIRE) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2020 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (Company No. 9346363) has made an Order on the A49 Trunk Road, between Leominster and Marlbrook, in the County of Herefordshire, to enable resurfacing, road markings, studs and gully repair works to be carried out. The effect of the Order, will be to, at different times – (1) impose a 40 miles per hour speed restriction on the A49 between the roundabout junction of the A49 and the A44 Mill Street (Leominster Roundabout), at Leominster, and the roundabout junction of the B4361 and the A49 (Marlbrook Roundabout), at Marlbrook; (2) impose a 10 miles per hour speed limit on the A49 between its junction with Leominster Roundabout and its junction with Marlbrook Roundabout, when signs indicating “convoy working” are being displayed; (3) close – (a) the A49 between its junction with Leominster Roundabout and its junction with Marlbrook Roundabout; and (b) any layby adjacent to the length of the A49 described in (3)(a) above; and (4) prohibit vehicles from entering or leaving the length of the A49 described in (3)(a) above, at the junction with any side road. The work is expected to start on Monday 22 June 2020 and continue for approximately 6 weeks. The closures will be carried out overnight between 20:00 hours and 06:00 hours. The speed restriction and layby closures will be in operation from 06:00 hours on Monday 22 June 2020, for twenty four hours per day, for the duration of the works. The Order will come into force on 19 June 2020. Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes will be exempt from the speed restriction and closures. Vehicles being used in connection with the works will be exempt from the closures and vehicles being used for special forces purposes will be exempt from the speed restrictions. Access to property will be maintained at all times. Diversion routes via - (1) Southern Avenue, the B4361, the A44, the B4361, the B4362 and vice versa; (2) Southern Avenue, the B4361, the A44 and vice versa; (3) the B4361, Southern Avenue and vice versa; and HGV diversion routes via – (1) the A417, the A465, the A44 and vice versa; and (2) Southern Avenue, the B4361, the A44, the A4110, the B4362, the B4361, the B4362 and vice versa, will be signed.
