POWYS was well represented at last weekend’s North Wales finals in Colwyn Bay.

Parc Eirias in Colwyn Bay, home to RGC 1404, hosted the stars of the future of the oval ball game for four days of action to bring the curtain down on another successful season.

Proud parents made the long trek north with Llanidloes, COBRA and Welshpool featuring in the finals.

The action began on Friday night before Llanidloes too centre stage on Saturday morning with a 27-19 win over Abergele in the final of the Under 12s Bowl.

OTHER NEWS:

COBRA had a busy Sunday with both its under 13s and under 15s in final action.

The Meifod side celebrated North Wales U15s Cup glory with a thrilling 31-29 win over Wrexham while the under 13s lost their plate final to Abergele.

The match of the weekend saw Powys rivals and near neighbours Welshpool and COBRA ho head to head in the final of the U14s Plate.

Victory belonged to COBRA with the Meifod team storming to a 36-12 win to underline their credentials as the top club in Montgomeryshire and ensure their travelling supporters plenty of reason for cheer on the long trek home.
