COBRA lost their way in a 21-10 defeat at Llandudno in Admiral Division One North on Saturday.
The men of Meifod forged a 10 point interval lead after breaking the deadlock with a try from wing Rob Irving beating his opposite number on the outside before stepping inside to score near the posts.
Llew Williams adding the two points before adding a penalty soon after as COBRA opened a 10 point advantage.
The hosts used the wind to their advantage after the break and ran home three converted tries to ensure COBRA returned home empty-handed.

Coach Gwylim Jones said: "Taking on a top side like Llandudno away from home with six props unavailable is a tough ask for any side but these young players are a credit to the club and showed grit and determination to almost create an upset."
Welshpool stormed to a 22-5 win at Bangor in division two.
Tries from Connor Thornton, Mitch Hunt, Jason Isaac and Iwan Morris and one conversion from Ryan Goodwin ensured Pool a comfortable margin of victory in Gwynedd.
However Pool's title bid ended after local rivals Newtown fell to a 45-21 defeat at newly-crowned champions Dinbych.
Jac Beynon-Thomas, Gareth Williams and Twm Jones crossed for tries with William Holloway converting each but the Powys side could not their unbeaten hosts sealing a place in the first division next season.
Machynlleth also closed on the third division title and promotion to the second tier with a 39-21 win at COBRA IIs.
