Builth Wells celebrated a 17-11 win at Skewen in a re-arranged Admiral League Two West Central clash on Friday.

The Bulls' scrum and lineout was dominant and laid the foundations for the opening try through Jacob Iveson before flanker Ben Pugh intercepted a ball and passed to supporting captain Ashley Mills to go under the post for a second try with Jack Griffiths converting.

After prolonged pressure from the lively Skewen backs the hosts crossed for a try before the break.

Skewen started the second-half the brighter and heaped pressure on the Bulls which yielded two penalties as the hosts reduced the arrears to a point with 20 minutes remaining.

Builth finally gained territory and Ryan Hughes went over the line to make it 17-11 to give the Powys side a hard-fought win.

Head coach Ben Duggan said: "It was a great win at a very tough place to go.

"The boys played some good stuff in the first-half but discipline and some poor kicking put ourselves under a lot of pressure.

"Credit to the boys, they all dug in defence and we’re worthy of a memorable win down there. The only downside was losing young centre Dylan Jones to a dislocated elbow which will keep him on the sidelines for a few weeks."
