COBRA Rugby Club enjoyed the perfect Christmas present as its young stars stormed to glory and lift the RGC Youth Plate last weekend.

The Meifod side lifted the silverware after a thrilling 24-18 win over Rhyl in Colwyn Bay.

Barry Jones, one of the youth team coaches said: "We were pleased to have the opportunity to play Rhyl in the final of the plate competition on Sunday and delighted to come away with the victory.

"We had played Rhyl earlier this season in the league and had been beaten narrowly by them on that occasion so we knew we were in for a good game and we were not disappointed.
