A PRIMARY school in Llandrindod Wells was evacuated today (Thursday, May 9) due to an unknown cause.

Ysgol Cefnllys announced at around 1.32pm that the school was closing, with all children and staff being evacuated.

The school took to Facebook, asking parents to come and collect their children from Llandrindod Wells Rugby Club and warning people not to come to the school site, located on Cefnllys Lane, close to Powys County Council’s headquarters.

Ysgol Cefnllys posted on its Facebook page: “Ysgol Cefnllys is being evacuated.

“All children and adults are safe. We will update you as soon as possible. Please do not come to site.”
