Welshpool Rugby Club presented the team at Welshpool High School with new shirts purchased through the Welsh Rugby Union’s (WRU) Macron voucher scheme.

On Thursday, October 26, Welshpool High School’s Under 14 team were presented with new Rugby shirts, purchased by Welshpool Rugby Club as part of a project that allowed all WRU clubs the chance to claim at least one set of free kit for next season as part of a sponsorship with macron.

When Macron became WRU’s official kit supplier in 2020, clubs were invited to sign up to the offer and claim between £1,500 and £6,300 in free kit vouchers.

Welshpool High School’s new kits were presented by first team coach and committee member Daley Jones along with Rugby and Community Wellbeing Officer Huw Williams.

The presentation took place at Welshpool High School and was put together by Mr Williams in order to build on developing the relationship between the club and the local community, working between Ponthafren, the rugby club and Welshpool High School.

The under 14s went on to win their first game in their new kit, playing against Llanidloes.
